Default Hi-vis rucksack

What are peoples thoughts on this? I may buy one, as at the moment I am using an old school backpak thingy.

I guess it will help, as backpacks normally block hi-vis jackets.

Seems quite cheap as well!

Doesn't look bad but seems like only the MP3/CD pocket is waterproof?

You can get hi-viz covers for rucksacks from cycling shops.

Alternatively, get a hi-viz jacket with long sleeves. I got one from Stu and it's great.

Yeah I have ordered one of those jackets from Stu.

Wonder if he's posted it yet? May wait until I get that before I buy this bag.

Don't know how other people feel, but I'm very dubious about using any rucksack on a bike.

Worried about taking a tumble and breaking back on contents of bag. Certainly on the few occasions I have used them, haven't put anything solid in them.

Having said that, a pack full of clothes might have a nice cushioning effect, provided it doesn't result in hyperextending (forced stretching backwards) too much.

Either way, I reckon a high-vis backpack doesn't look as, dorky (for want of a better, less american phrase (not that there's anything wrong with Americans, except perhaps Bush)).

to finish above post:

as a high vis jacket.

To add to it

Just been having a look on a medical paper search engine, can't see any reports about back injuries related to motorbikes & backpacks, but there are a few indirect ones where nerves for the arms have been damaged by the straps.

My £0.02,

Andy
