That's the very last image on the film, wonder what happened to the rest? I wonder if those are light leaks top and bottom, or just the age of the film/handling? I'll have to find my notes. I think at least one frame I fogged out, the shutter jammed I think. Anyway thanks for doing it. Re. the bulb, the resistance will be low. What voltage does it need?

That shot was f3.5 (wide open) 1/250th ISO100 at a guess (so fairly over-exposed by perhaps 2-3 stops). the others were f8 and 1/100 and f11 1/50 so should have snapped okay but maybe the film just wasn't taking up the light any more.

The film is pretty fogged apart from the last frame. No clear borders or hint of anything else on there. The black band at the bottom may be where the developer didn't fully cover the film.

Is there a continuity buzzer on your meter? Usually on the voltage scale. If so tap the two test leads together and it should sound. Now touch leads to bulb contacts. If it sounds then you have some connectivity, no sound, then no connectivity (no circuit).

If you want to check resistance then just set the meter to the lowest setting and see if you get any reading. If the meter is digital, then a 0 reading means nothing, 1 is a full short cct. If get a 1 then move up to the next setting and repeat. If you get to the highest setting (200000 ohms) and still get 1 then its definitely shorted, on the other hand you might get 190000 ohms it's as good as a short.

It's unusual for a bulb to short, they usually pop like a fuse. I'm betting its an open cct.

2000k zero reading, 200k zero reading, 20k zero reading, 2000 reading 001, 200 reading 0.09. Does this mean anything?

That last reading is so low at 0.09. nearly 1/100 of an ohm. That's nothing. I'd say it's an open circuit and that reading is just to some current finding its way across the microscopic break in the wiring.

Poo. Its going to cost at least a tenner or more for a new lamp. Glad I haggled them down a bit on the price! Right you lot, seeing as you are expert camera and gear rummagers now, I need a A1/17, A1/185, A1/202 or A1/263 8v 50w lamp. Can you keep an eye out? I am watching one on eBay for £14.95 at the mo.

I've had a scout around and that's easily the best price. Possibly cheaper to buy a projector then sell it without the lamp? If you would ever sell it... The flange looks the same as my old GSX250 (1979) headlight bulb, which was dual filament and total carp, plus of course it looked like a normal bulb not a lighthouse.
