Xscape Glasgow trip/night out! 31st of March
If someone could stickify this, that'd be most welcome...
Night out! At a big kid's playpark! Me and my brother went through a while back, and all I can say is this place is ace. http://www.xscape.co.uk/snow/braehead/ The biggest attraction's the indoor skislope- none of your doormat/astroturf, it's an artificial snow slope. All the stuff's available for hire, as well as lessons if anyone's that way inclined, and a bar overlooking it so you can watch me break all my limbs. But there's loads of other stuff... Also a full 10-pin bowling alley, and there's also some sort of interactive football experience, whatever that may be, climbing walls, a crazy aerial assault course which I think is more for the kids (I ain't doing it, it's terrifying just being beneath it)... An "air drop" which is freefalling over a massive fan (wasn't open last time we were there, but apparently it usually is) and the Robocoaster, which is a robot arm that chucks you about- I'm sureit's better than it sounds... And MINIATURE GOLF, oh yes... And the whole place is right beside Braehead Arena and shopping centre, if anyone wants a break from acting like a child. Plus, a good assortment of bars and restaurants. So, the idea is to make a day of it- muck about in the afternoon, get a bite and a drink, maybe another drink, and more mucking about accompanied by more drinks. Jim@55's kindly offered floor space and garage room for anyone like me that wants to ride through on the saturday then have a few drinks- there's public transport from Glasgow city centre but it's an epic trip. So, who's up for it? Any discussion of what to do, etc, should be in this thread, and if you plan to go, please tick the poll as we'll need the numbers, I ain't going if it's just me

Re: Xscape Glasgow trip/night out! 31st of March
And for discussion of Stuff To Do, I want to do the miniature golf, the boarding if there's other people interested, maybe try the climbing wall, and the bowling'd be a good end for the night, I figure that's likely to draw the most people together. I can't bowl to save my life, but it's the perfect accompaniment to a beverage.

im sure there'll b a few up for this ,the bar and bowling sound good to me (i broke my arm a couple of yr ago and dont really want a broken leg/arm /limb of any sorts ,so ski-ing .bording /any 'wall of death type'activities are a no go for me ,but the rest (dont forget china buffet king as well)

Re: Xscape Glasgow trip/night out! 31st of March
I am mad for miniature golf, mad for it. Excited already.
Also keen on watching other people queue up for a chance to break a limb of some sort, especially if I have a drink in hand. A rail to lean on makes that heaven. More of a scrambler than a climber due to a perfectly rational fear of heights but I imagine that's catered for on the wall. As for the bowling, bring your weak ass **** on! Can we bowl for money? When I'm in the groove I can get nearly 100... |

There's a big round balcony with a rail That's when I fell in love with the place, standing with a pint watching kids sledging...
