Default Oh to be a farmers boy oy oy oy oy

Well it had to happen sometime & that time was about 3 pm today.
The Scene : narrow country lane with lots of mud & gravel. Saw a hare which was nice & then saw left, right, left, right hedges in quick succession which wasn't! Bike tramlined between the verges, curtseying more & more with each change of direction. Oddly, it was the front that was losing grip most.
After about 70 yards of this hedging & ditching the bike lay down quite gently but still doing about 30. I left it to it. Ran after it & switched ignition off. Surveyed the damage - **** everywhere, front brake lever fubarred, can & headlamp rim scratched & a match head sized bit of paint off the tank. Textiles, gloves & helmet seem relatively unscathed, but will have to give a good hosing to make sure. Amazing how much mud was sticking to the bike: it felt a bit strange but reckon that was mainly due to about 3kg of mud stuck to the rear wheel rim. Will inspect closer tomorrow.
