After the failure of the flash bar for the Polaroid I managed to get a Polatronic flash for a few pounds. Sold as not working due to corrosion in the battery compartment. Cleaned it up but no joy. Left it on over night and found it had charged. Wrapped some foil on the non corroded part of the terminal and onto the battery. Now works perfectly.

I don't often carry a camera around with me. Only when I'm going somewhere, have some kind of purpose or know that there are photo opportunities. Tend to rely on my phone for daily use although camera quality was the biggest factor last time I bought a new mobile because I was getting poor pictures of those 'spontaneous' moments.

I got an iphone 5S just before Christmas, got the S as it has a better camera, and yes indeed it really is good. There is also the VSCO app which allows a whole bunch of manual controls, even manual focus, I haven't really played with it much yet though.

I guess I'm usually taking pictures of moving things so choices of DoF or shutter speed take care of themselves, I did a few more test pictures using flash on the film in my Olympus. Half a dozen pics left, want to see what they look like, and when that one goes in am getting the really old film printed (1940s/50s, the two pics that came out) and an enlargement for a canvas - a friend nearby has a printing offer on which has hopefully not run out yet. I need a 1.21gigapixel (ish) scan for that.

My usual daily carry is the MV1. Only because it was £5 from the car boot so it doesn't matter if it gets scratched. The flash has started working on my Konica Pop as well.
Just watched an X700 sell on eBay for £65 plus postage.

Same reason I gave up on the x500. Bids start fairly low and then just go mad at the end. With the original lens they are pricier too. Seems the 50mm Rokkor is held in quite high regard.

Oh, when I went into the Post Office this evening, Poundland is next door. I had a look in. Big box of 35mm had just come so I stocked up

That's good, I tend to pick up a few rolls whenever we pop in whether I need it or not. Really hope they keep stocking it. You can buy it on their website if you struggle to find it.

I know, so cool though! The flash body has discoloration in comparison to the camera body. So many adaptall lenses o eBay at the moment. The Yashica to M42 adapter arrived today, means I can now mount the Helios 44m onto the FX-D.
