had a 96 750ss for a while and it was a nice bike with a surprisingly comfy riding position much much better than the SV Sport.

still no match for my 2007 SV with gsxr k4/5 600/750 front end and nitron rear shock. 4 pot radial callipers with 320mm discs sure makes the humble SV stop quick. also a mahoosive rear sprocket gets it to silly speeds very very quickly. i used the 4 pot callipers from the K6 so i could use the larger discs

I'm still on the standard 15/46 gearing for the Gen3 bikes, and despite the fact it has a gear indicator, I still try to change to 7th occasionally

Not sure if you realise but the belt head 750 Ducati is an entirely different machine to the earlier, bevel head, round case bikes, like my 1975 750S.

Yup. I had it the other way 17/45 for years and it was nice for touring but less fun and i still hunted for 7th lol

Much prefer the 14/48, its much more fun on the twistys.

Just checked that on the SV gearing calculator and it pretty much turns 4th gear into the equivalent of 3rd when using the stock sprockets, 5th into 4th and 6th into 5th, so it would be VERY revvy and point-and-squirt
