Default Battery earth connection.

Quick question: The main earth cable has another little wire attached to it with a flat connector on the end. Where does this go to, as I pulled it out by accident when dropping the engine last time.

if you can give me a few clues what to look for as in what the main wire attaches to m8 I'll go and have a look at mine as everything is off at the moment.

On a curvy theres an earth that goes to the back of the engine low down in about the most awkward place you can think of.Is it that one?

It is earth for rest of loom. Goes to loom just in front IIRC or somewhere around there.

Figured it was the earth for the loom, but I can't figure out where it plugs into.

5hort5, if you look on the negative terminal of the battery at the connector there's a big thick black wire (which runs down the side of the engine), and a thin wire coming off. I need to know where the little thin wire goes to.

There's only one plug it goes near that is anything like same, it might be hiding under side of RHS plastics?

ok, there is one big black wire that seems to go to the engine and then from the terminal a smaller black and white wire that disappears up the RHS rear fairing. F'ing thing wouldn't come off and I didn't want to force it (need less wine to do that tbh). Anyway these are the only wires off the neg terminal on mine and there didn't appear to be anything further down the wire that came off. Hope that helps, if not let me know and I get the panel off tomorrow evening after work.

Si

Yeah, pretty much what I expected. I just didn't want to take the rear panel off if I didn't have to, but looks like it's another one of the 101 things that have inconvenienced me with the bike recently.

yer - you seem to be getting the **** end of the stick at the moment. Mind you could be worse, I have fork springs and brake lines and maybe even putting my bike back together again with your name on it after I stop crying next weekend in frustration. (only kidding )

Ps - Valve clearances, can you use a screw driver instead of feeler gauges?
