Default Suzuki dealer has wrecked my bike

To cut a long story short my K1 has an electrical fault, all the electrics seem to be working apart from it wont start…. So I booked it in at my local Suzuki dealer in crewe, she went in on thurs…. I phoned at 4pm to see how they were getting on and they hadn’t sorted it ! so it stayed there Friday, I called at 4.30pm to see how they were getting on…. They hadn’t sorted it but they could tell me what wasn’t wrong with it !!! and they then told me they couldn’t spend anymore time on it and the bill stood at £105, so saturday morning I went to collect it

The bike was given to me in bits, all the fairings (front and rear) were not put back on along with a box with the mirrors and screen and all the bolts !!!!!!

I then noticed some damaged parts of the wiring loom, the mechanic said that this was a necessary evil to trace the fault ????? and I needed to tape these up, also the alarm box that he had opened up to check the immobiliser for a fault, he hadn’t put back together and I have no security bits to put this back together

I will be getting in contact with Suzuki GB tomorrow about this… as I don’t feel that getting a bike in a worse state than when it went in to a garage is acceptable on any grounds !

So those who may be interested in what Suzuki have to say about this and what they intend to do watch this space….

But if anyone has any ideas on this fault please let me know…. I have checked the side stand and neutral switch, the kill switch is ok along with the starter button, all the fuses are fine and I have all other electrics on the bike

Oh yeh and I wont be on the ride out !!!

That's insane. Trading standards on tuesday mate, they can refuse to do the work, but they can't tear it to bits and then refuse to put it back together, and if they've damaged the wiring loom it's their problem to fix.

does the bike turn over? If not probably the fuse inside the starter relay.

If it does turn over? Have you removed a spark plug and put it near the frame while connected to see if it sparks?

If it does spark, then rule out the HT coil units. If not, poss CDI problem, have you swaped one out for another, borrow one from another K1-K2 bike and check.

Thats a bit of what i can think of.

If it is the IMMO then someone on here should be able to tell you how to bypass.

buy new loom without alarm, if it goes for little money then its a bargin.

this one looks like it has no cdi unit
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=7975972581

this one has a datatool & a CDI unit attached to it.

You could buy that and try it out, if it works, hey presto, charge the garage.

...you couldn't make that up!

Read them the Riot Act and make them pay for it to be put right.....by someone else you can trust!

If all else fails, fire bomb.

The starter doesn't turn over... i basically have all the electrics but the starter wont turn over when the starter is pressed, the switch has checked out ok, and all the fuses are ok as ive checked them and swapped them about etc,,,,,so i really dont understand

Gobsmacked.

Seeing as you can't ride it anyway, I would have refused to have it back like that and gone straight to trading standards. I assume that you did not actually pay them anything
