Miles from a Fireblade rear tyre?
How many miles should I expect to be getting from a rear tyre on my Fireblade?
When I bought it the rear tyre looked about half way worn, after about 1200 miles they are now completely bald. More surprisingly this morning, there was about 3mm left this morning. 200 miles later nothing!! Bald as a coot!! So is this what I should expect now I have a sport bike? 2-3000 miles from a tyre? If so this will mean a tyre change 3 times a year BTW tyres are Bridgestone BT014

Or your suspension is a mile out.

Re: Miles from a Fireblade rear tyre
I stuck a BT021 on the back of mine after it ate two sporty rears in a row - must admit, I've been delighted with it and it goes really well with the BT016 on the front.
I decided to just be honest with myself that I'm unlikely to push a BT021 to it's limit, so why bother paying to replace it every 2-3000 miles?! |

Re: Miles from a Fireblade rear tyre
What's most annoying is it's like new on the edges just bald down the middle.
Bit embarrassing really

Re: Miles from a Fireblade rear tyre
Are you sure the pressures and stuff are correct and like someone else suggested, suspension?
I don't know an awful lot about technical stuff but I do know that if your tyres are wearing so unevenly, there is normally a problem with pressures. |
