Darren just drill that central lug out, drill a hole in the wall and screw another hook in the plug.
Sorted.

Oh and face the helmet forward.

Yesterday's efforts - New rear tyre, new chain and sprockets and a rear brake that actually works. Might need to get some fresh fluid as it's a bit spongy.

Front tyre to do tonight, and a bit of swearing to make the rear brake switch decide to carry on working.

Then it's get a new bearing for the rear carrier as it was/ is toast - currently got about as much grease in there as I could manage. Front brake service. New horn as it's dead.
Then she's ready for the MOT next month. And it best fudging pass.

Gary, more putting off until I have no choice, than busy.
My rear brake hadn't seen any movement of the pedal for about 5 months! The front brake and engine brake count as a vehicle having two brakes. Maybe.

When I actually get round to doing it I quite enjoy it. Her indoors gets a bit miffed after 5 or 6 hours have passed of "me playing in the garage".

I know exactly what you mean Martin, and I'm just the same. I quite enjoy the tinkering and fettling. It's just finding the time to do it. I always like to have the bike sorted and back up and running at the end of the day, so it's making sure I can get it all done in one go.

MoT time for the OHs car and found an oil leak so pattern part fitted and oil now ****ing everywhere now waiting for the dealership to get one from France. On the plus side EGR fully stripped cleaned and rebulit. Tomorrow is oil change on the bike and clean and service of the brakes before MoT on that at end of next month.

Haha, I know what you mean. Since I got my SV over three years ago, the rear brake pedal mostly gets used at every MOT test Oh, and one other time when I changed the brake fluid

After 16k miles I thought it was about time I gave my pipes a little polish. The 3k miles without washing the bike last year certainly didn't help.

So today I started to disassemble them, BOOM! big cut on my finger and a blood blister pulling the springs off

I will say though, what a brilliant idea stud and nuts are for headers! A little squirt of WD40 and they came off no bother. No snapping or anything

It all came off reasonably easily

The rear header however...

I need to install more bendy bits on my socket set and fingers to reach that one. I think I might just try my best to polish that pipe where it is

I'll update this when everything's nice and shiny

I think I bought the wrong colour of autosol because it's just turning things black. Might be time to break out the chemicals

Sounds crazy but try rubbing it with Aluminium cooking foil
