Offer on spark plugs for Gen 3 bikes
Public service announcement:
Robinsons Foundry has the hard-to-get and expensive MR8E-9 plugs for the Gen 3 bikes on special offer at the moment, £6 per plug which is less than half the price of anywhere else. https://www.robinsonsfoundry.co.uk/b...l6/09482-00646 As you were. |

Re: Offer on spark plugs for Gen 3 bikes
thanks for the heads-up.
I have a first world gripe - if you are a company that offers on line shopping and you take Paypal, don't ask me to fill out my name and address. I tried to order 4 plugs, got a paypal error on the Robinson's site, so I reordered which went through. Yes, I'm now getting 8 plugs. |

Re: Offer on spark plugs for Gen 3 bikes
... to add to the annoyance with ordering, I just received this email from Robinsons:
"I'm sorry but Suzuki Europe are currently out of stock of the items which you ordered, they been ordered from Japan for you, approx delivery 2-3 weeks" My bike is booked in for service one week from tomorrow which I why I ordered the plugs. This is going to be an expensive service, £50 for plugs from Robinsons, another £50 for plugs from B&B (my dealer's price for 4) plus the cost of service itself. |

Re: Offer on spark plugs for Gen 3 bikes
Also, browsing my SV650 AL7 owner's manual, there are two service schedules printed (not a stuck-in page, but actually printed & bound in the manual): one for the US, and one for 'Europe & Oceania countries.'
The US schedule states oil changes every 3,750 miles and spark plug changes at 7,500 miles. The Europe & Oceania schedule states oil changes every 7,500 miles and plug inspection at the same time; plug changes are given as every 15,000 miles. And the last time I checked, the UK is still in Europe until the end of October so even Suzuki themselves acknowledge the MR8E-9 plugs are good for more than 7,500 miles (but probably need the gap checking more often than platinum / iridium plugs). |

Re: Offer on spark plugs for Gen 3 bikes
I only change Spark plugs when I know they are sub-par.I don't believe in arbitrary times or mileages.
That being said, https://www.sparkplugsrus.com/ngk-mr...lug-2547-p.asp Our Price: £6.22 £7.46 inc. VAT (applicable to UK & EU orders) HTH
