Our CEO has just announced that all staff may leave at 4.15 tomorrow if their workload permits it so they can watch the football. Considering we have over 25 nationalities working at Lord's I think this is a nice gesture. Of course I'm already on a day off and won't be watching the match anyway. But others would appreciate it.

Mum had dementia as you know, but I take her to the gardening club once a month which she enjoys. Tonight we went to a local RHS garden called Hyde Hall. I'll post up more pics later in the photo section but here's a taster.

Last year I decided to sow wild flower seeds around the back of the house - I got poppies. Only poppies. This year I got daisies, lots and lots of 3-4 ft tall daisies. Only daisies.

When I ordered the seeds, they listed the variety of widflowers I would get, I hadn't realised I'd only get one species per year.

Meanwhile, at the front I've got poppies and I didn't sow any wildflower seeds there (and there were none last year). I don't think I'm cut out for gardening, although I have managed to grow a mutant 5ft tall foxglove.

My new fencing panels arrived at 11 am this morning, ahead of schedule, and I had the old ones out and the new ones in by 12:15. I'd bought some brackets that allowed the panels to be dropped in and they slid in easily with just one panel needing to be levered slightly to get it into position. They were only 3'6'' tall panels though.
