Default Renthal grips

Fitted a new set of Renthal grips onto my clips ons recently as my stock grips had finally given up and no amount of glue would keep the clutch side attached, but the only way I could find to get the Renthal grip to fit on the stock throttle tube was to cut the flange off the grip as it didn't seem to fit over the flange of the tube.

It's not a major issue but is there anyway to get it to fit properly without chopping the end of the grip off?

Do you mean then narrow end or the thick end? (left and right looking at the grip from the bike)

I find using 70% Isopropanol works a treat as it lets the grip slide on to the bar and then will evaporate leaving rubber on metal. Using glue means there is a time constraint and you can't correct for any errors, while water never seems to dry out and means the grip will always rotate.

I've fitted Progrips to my Thou' and my R6 now, the RSV4 isn't getting any as the stock ones are actually good.

It's the left hand side but after having a look around it seems it's a common problem and you've got to sand away some of the lip to allow the grip to butt right up to the edge of the throttle tube.

I'm switching back to some new stock grips as after a few hundred miles use the Renthals seem far too thin for me.

Trip Progrips, I have them on my bikes and they're ace.

You do have to cut a hole in the end of the grip though as they are solid from the moulding process
