Anyone know anything about TV advertising?
Why is it that television adverts seem to run for about a month before they cut a tiny bit from them, whether it's from the beginning, middle or end. Is it something to do with the broadcasting rules?
Has anyone else noticed this? |

Money, impact is no longer what it was at the start of the campaign.

Re: Anyone know anything about TV advertising?
Yep. Also the fact that people tend to have seen the rest of the advert already and only need a shorter "reminder". It's quite common with long adverts that they will show the long version 2-3 times during the first few breaks during something with a lot of breaks (say a 2.5 hour+ film). Then, they show significantly shorter versions for the last few breaks of the same program. Almost the same impact as showing the long version 5-6 times, but it costs only about 2/3rds.

No I'm not talking about when they do that. I'm talking one word might be taken out or a one second shot. I'm sure it happens at monthly intervals. I'm very observant don't you know. Maybe I'm so observant I make things up that don't really exist?!

I think you may be in need of a hobby. Preferably one that involves actually leaving the house.

Re: Anyone know anything about TV advertising?
Having checked with a media type, they have no knowledge of this and the only thing she can think of is some exec decides to tweak it, or they might be rectifying it in light of a complaint. Of course, that's only on in rare cases, but from the way you describe it, it sounds like this happens on all/most adverts.
