Which HID Conversion? SVS.
I have been reading the other thread about HID's on the pointy and I quite fancy putting them on mine.
I have no idea where to start, and I can't find much on the forum either. This is where people recommend to buy them http://www.hids4u.co.uk/, but which kit do I need? Is it the H4 slim kit, or do I need a dual conversion? Also is it plug and play or is there some messing about with slicing etc? Total novice on this subject I am afraid |

Re: HID Conversion
It's really simple, or it must be 'cos I managed it!
I used this kit http://www.hids4u.co.uk/h4-35w-propl...rsion-kit.html rather than the motorcycle specific ones because they only have one ballast and bulb. You don't need slim ballasts, there's plenty of space on the SV to moount it. All you do is take out the old bulb, put in the new bulb, plug the SV's power socket that was on the old bulb onto the wiring loom for the ballast and away you go! I zip-tied the ballasts to the frame just inside the bikini fairing, one on each side. Don't forget the discount code strathy at the payment stage. Pete. |

Re: HID Conversion
It's well worth it, the extra light is awesome, especially now it's winter!
If you need any help, let me know. Pete |

Re: HID Conversion
Just on quicky, what made you chose 5000K?
Sorry 2 questions - Did you have to take the nose cone off? |

Re: HID Conversion
5000k,according to the site is the brightest. That's the whole point, not a pretty blue colour.
And no, you don't need to take the nose cone off, only those two triangular fill panels held in with one screw. Pete |

Re: HID Conversion
Do you ever get any problems with other drivers flashing you due to your beam alignment with HIDs?
I know that a lot of cars have problems with beam scatter, does the SV suffer from this? |

Re: HID Conversion
Philz,
Nope, just adjust them properly. The small hole in the black cockpit bit each side of the speedo is the hole, philips head screwdriver and away you go! Pete |
