Re: SV special build - S-pokey-V.
Found the link. The TL1000S frame is in proportion to the curvey i think but your right, this guy did use a Rotrex charger.

Re: SV special build - S-pokey-V.
I've seen Sam's bike in the flesh and on the net and it is very nicely done - but I'm not forking out for a Rotrex charger.
The only reason I got thinking about supercharging was because I found an Eaton M45 charger in the workshop that I forgot I had and wondered whether it would feasable to use to make the SV angry.... It's too big - about 3x times larger than the Rotrex unit Sam used - and weighs about 8kg. Besides, I'm guilty of getting carried away; I did say at the beginning of the build that I wasn't going to do anything to the engine until I'd made sure that the single disc up front could cope with what was being asked of it with a standard engine propelling the bike. No point getting more power if it means I'm going to be punching SV shaped holes in hedges.... Last edited by millemille; 08-10-12 at 06:15 PM. |

Re: SV special build - S-pokey-V.
Not massive mounts of progress to report due to being waaaaay too busy at work and having 2 wisdom teeth extracted....
Swingarm is finished - bead blasted and then scotchbrited and now ready for setting up the rear linkage for designing, machining and welding into the frame... Bought a set of GBmoto rear sets - very nice an excellent value for money but unfortunately they don't kick the pegs out far enough to give the clearance needed around the swingarm for the exhaust routing. So I'm popping over to see Ivan & Jamie Porter (of supermono racing fame) to have them machine me up a set of offset matrix plates for the rearsets. I've been attacking the petrol tank - cutting out the original filler cap recess in preparation for plating it over to mount a Monza stylecap and also cutting out the back ready to weld in the fuel cell that is going under the seat and replacing the rear sub frame... |
