Spannering in West Yorkshire
Big thanks to our very own YC for sorting my bike for the most part of yesterday.
Did a great job of sorting new chain & sprockets, rear tyre, fork springs/oil. Although it took most of the day, he did a great job and didn't even charge me for the couple of hours kip he had in the afternoon I was particularly impressed with his 'workshop' (aka garage), which, although it's still a gargantuan task to get up the drive once you're down...it actually resembles a workshop as opposed to a war zone. There was even a clean work surface (well, it is stainless so difficult for him to make it look as scabby as his bike lol). Thanks again Chris - you did a great job! (P.S. If you ever round off any bolts and need them drilling out with precision, Chris is the man) |

Re: Spannering in West Yorkshire
Do it Josh, Chris has been kind enough to ride over to mine in the past to help me with stuff (sometimes after having worked at DP's too).
Now he's doing this 'properly' i.e. charging a fair rate for his work, I'm more comfortable about the arrangement as I'd feel a bit guilty continuing to use him for 'free' (i.e. whisky). I'll be back again in the next few weeks to get him to swap my cams, I could do it myself, but based on yesterday's experience, having a workshop full of the right kit (air gun, proper steel drill bits - various sizes) is worth it's weight in gold when things go Pete Tong (as they always do with easy jobs). |

Re: Spannering in West Yorkshire
Yes the oily git struck again yesterday......cheeky sod.....wait for it.......
Got me out of bed at 7.50am with a phonecall to announce he would be up in an hour to refit my new tank Then stayed around for a half hr and fooked off when he had to soak this rubber thing coz it wouldn't fit over the pump....... A few hours later and me tappin me foot coz he had the cheek to get me up so early, he came back, and the pump had shrunk, or the rubber thing had stretched, muchos slagging off about tanks made on a Friday are all different sizes in Italy........and my new tank is firmly on after some faffing No more chicken pox We have also found that you can remove the tank without taking off the horns, to change the air filter, indeed a handy thing to have taken note of young Chris, for when those poxy bolts holding them on want to stay on, going round and round and round and round I as always am happy when hes gone, usually coz hes snaffled all me hobnobs, left blobs of oil on my carpet and the bogseat up....and occasionally because hes done a good job

just to note though lou that the seat should be up as you have gravity to help you close it, us blokes have to fight nature to lift it up. As good a reason as any i say |
