Already did.. Quoteline Direct

Look up their reviews on Google. I wish I had before I took the insurance. Seems I got away lightly. Just one of the many cons they try apparently.

Trustpilot holds 174 reviews. Think there were 6 5* (mostly by people naming the staff they had a positive experience from, apparently this a a flag for a fraudulent review), 4 2* and the rest 1*.
By far the most common statement was "if I could leave a zero star review I would".

Seems a common tactic to threaten to cancel your policy followed by some extortion.

They sound just as bad as GoSkippy were when they started out - Quote you one price then take £500 more and only tell you after that 'your circumstances' were outside the previous price blah, blah, blah.

Complain to the Ombudsman about thier practices and if you were lucky enough to use a Credit Card then they may be more than happy to go after the funds otherwise unless you have a lawyer as a relative your buggered.

yup. always use a credit card for paying insurance. if you pay by DD you are actually paying by credit and they will shaft you if you walk or complain.

touch wood i have never really had a problem with insurance.

Direct Debit Guarantee should give you that cover too. And if a company abuses it (by taking money that was not previously discussed, or agreed to), they can get their DD rights revoked.

they tell you that its a DD but if you read the small print on some its actually a loan so no DD guarantee and if you cancel you are still due 100% + admin fees due to taking a loan. also try cancelling a DD at your bank and see how many hurdles you have to jump.

ALWAYS pay either full amount or by credit card.. NEVER EVER trust brokers (you cant buy insurance direct well you can but there are very very few who underwrite their own insurance). i know for some this is not feasible so you are stuck between a rock etc.etc.
