Default Dirty Robbing (insert expletive here)... - Home Insurance

Just had my home insurance renewal through for over 500GBP! That's a lot of brass! So went on confused.com for some quotes and the best one was AA Home Insurance for exactly half my renewal premium. There were many others for less than current renewal figure so was obviously being ripped off...

Called Direct Line to cancel renewal and hey presto! over 200GPB knocked off! GRRRRR!!!!! Why did they not just send me a competitive renewal price to start with!!!

Do not accept renewal quotes, dirty thieving rotten bleep bleep bleep!!!

... and breathe and relax..... thanks for listening!

Now off to check Pet insurance based on the thread on Photos....

Blimey that is so cheeky.

After something like that I always have to question the integrity of the company. Thats a 40% discount in price which they could have given you from the start, but NO they choose to try and fleece you instead.

I dont think I could trust staying with them out of principle.

Unless of course you have claimed off them and had a good service which you may not get from elsewhere.

Had exactly the same thing last week with ours.

The Post Office has come out best, with a load of added extras (added by us, wedding rings etc) - came out cheaper, less excess blah blah blah.

I think they work on the fact that a lot of folk will just accept it without really looking around for other options.

It like the stupidly rich people with ferraris.

I bet they dont even check their renewal's and just let the money be taken automatically which is normally the case nowdays if you dont tick a box.

Insurance companies must make a fortune from suckers like that.

We have had the same from Natwest for the last 3 years, renewal quote > ?200 more than the year before, we have not claimed on anything for 7 years at least!!

If it happens next year will not bother to call and rant about it, we will just not renew!!

I don't know why you renewed your policy. Staying with them is money in their pocket; they've lost nothing, as the £200 is just a bonus if it had worked.

They'll keep sticking it up your ass until you vote with your feet.

my dad kept insurng his bmw every year with the same company via DD so he did not even need to lift a finger. When i showed him how to use the internet and compare .com he could not believe his insurance could be half the price!

They rip u off by giving u a introducory bonus. Next year u dont get that! But they dont care. Because insurance companies shuffle the clients around like a big game of pass the pig! Every one that leaves a new customer gets the excellent introductory qoute! Hey presto.....They win
