Bike is ready for the year, fresh MOT, new chain and sprockets and a new pair of Pirelli Angel GT 2s to replace the eight year old Contimotions. Now all I need is to be able to go for a nice long ride.

Same here though I haven't taxed the bike yet. I'll wait till April 1st.

SOTD; using the bike to do all my 'Chores' & travelling today. Was pleasant to be out in the decent weather (got home just before it hailed) and pootle about.
Can't wait untill i can go further afield on a day long ride again.

I’ll be using mine to go to a job on Monday in Whitchurch, so about a 100 mile round trip. Think it’ll be a wet ride though....

Still, maybe it’ll empty my head of all the crap currently residing there.

Roads might be a bit damp but weather forecast is dry. I do like the Oswestry - Ellesmere - Whitchurch road.

I think the rates are going up from April 1st (yes/no?).
If they are, you should be able to tax it a day or two before the start of the new month at the old rate but commencing from the 1st of the month.
Apologies if this is all wrong, I can't be bothered to trawl the sites for definitive info, worth a check if it'll save a few ££.

From April the first it will cost slightly more to tax your motorcycle, with all bikes and tricycles seeing an uplift in Vehicle Excise Duty.
The changes will see those on 125cc learner legal machines, such as the KTM Duke 125, and those riding machines over 150cc but not more than 400cc paying an extra £1 a year if paid as a lump sum. Riders using bikes that are over 401cc and not more than 600cc will pay an extra £2 per year, and those riding bikes over 600cc will pay an extra £3 per year, taking the total amount if paid as a lump sum for those bikes up to £96

I think it will be still cheaper to wait to April as I'll save a month. I tax my bike for a year and then SORN after 9 months getting a refund, from March to November. This time it'll be April to November.
