Default Handling questions, yes its random

For destroying twisties what would be best....

all with uprated or completly new front ends and rear suspension units...

GSXR 1100
bandit 1200
hornet

or any other bike with a straight top to the frame or flat lying tank.....

random, but thank you .org!

Gixxer is a bus

as is the bandit. They'd be great with new suspendies, but still fundamentaly heavy.

So go with the hornet

I have to say the Gixxer as I have one
I lowered the front, set the suspension up and am running a 180 on the rear, it rocks

Im lookinh to make a modern cafe-racer-fighter (hence the straight top part of the frame) and was planning on useing a bandit, as it would probably be the easiest option for modding/chopping. But then I thought, I dont want a bike that dosent handle better than my (standard) SV after throwing lots of time and money at it as this will be a long term project, so i was checking out other options as well.

the plan is to completly strip the bike, nut and blot rebuild - mostly to learn more about bikes in general, so it can be tatty/crashed, and then make a lightened version with better suspendies and custom rear subframe and body work and other trick bits.

thats the plan

Bandits and the gixxers are both fightered a hell of a lot, so there's lots of knowledge there to do it. Hornet isn't so common but isn't such a good platform either, harder to modify and less tuning bits out there.

Not true. Visit Hornets nest and you will see so many mods out there. Besides, the Hornet is a great bike out of the crate so needs less doing. I will admit that there are more bandits fightered but in general those fighter riders can't do corners all they want to do is wheelie.

I'm going on streetfighters here... there's probably 1 hornet for every 20 or so oil boiling gixer derived engine.

And I defo want to be able to go around corners! I was shocked to read online that the SVK3S is about 170kg and the bandit N is about 200kg! Thats a massive difference.

Id love a 100hp 150kg street-cafe-fighter!!
