Re: Coolant leak?
But a guard would not have stopped the horn falling off into the back of the radiator. Going to check the fixing on my horn bracket is done up. Thank you for the heads up.

Re: Coolant leak?
A radiator guard and fender extender are two of the first things I fitted to my AL7 from new as I have seen problems caused by stones before, even on cars where radiator is much better protected.

Re: Coolant leak?
I think the 2003/2004 radiator is wider, so it might be called 2005-on.

Re: Coolant leak?
Sorry to thread-jack, but I've got a coolant leak too. It has completely emptied itself so I need to fill it up to find the leak. I don't really want to use coolant for this because I'm probably going to have to drain the system once I find the problem.
Would this de-ionised battery water be ok for this? Linky |

I am no seasoned pro but having researched this extensively over the last couple of days I would say if you're flushing the coolant system, and you're only filling it to find the leak then using plain water will be fine. When you're changing the coolant you use water to wash the system out so I would use water to find the leak. Fix whatever needs fixing, then flush again and fill with the appropriate coolant after it's fixed. Or you're just wasting de-ionised water. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Coolant leak?
I was always led to believe that you don't use tap water in your cooling system as the minerals in it can block the cooling channels like limescale in your kettle.
