No, Top Gear team arrived in 'neutral territory' in Belgium IIRC using three two-seater Spitfires.
This wouldn't be allowed in the UK, as they're not licensed for passenger flights. One of the most interesting two-seater Spits is the Grace family aircraft, which was restored by a chap who subsequently died too early. His wife couldn't bear to part with the aircraft and so she learnt to fly it and now does airshows all over the place. |
