Help... High level link-pipe...
I've just bought a high level link pipe (from the NEC) for my Remus can...
It's really tight fitting the can to the link pipe... I've cleaned out the inside of the can's collar, but I can only get the link pipe about half way in before it's jammed solid... I've tried heating up the collar to make it expand a bit - no joy... Even put WD-40 on the link pipe & inside the collar to see if that'll help Anyone got any tips |

Hi Cloggsy,
Is the end of the link pipe de-burred? You may have to file the link pipe. Have you measured it against your existing pipe, with manufacturing tolerances it may be slightly bigger! |

put a hacksaw cut into the link pipe in order too make the outer circumference smaller
you could then weld this up but its not very good really as a get out of jail card |

Try sanding the link pipe down where it fits in the sleeve on the can. You won't need to take much off as it can't be far out.
Or hacksaw a couple of slots into the link pipe (parallel to the direction of the pipe) as per the other post so that it will squash as you push it in. |

Is it Roy at OS? I know he has a hand in building the Honda race systems. If it is, you're in luck

Ah no, different guy then. Roy built me a ridiculously compacted version of a Yam Virago downpipe that made it possible for the horrible thing to speed on motorways
I had the exact same problem as you with the CCC low level pipe, I solved it by havinga bigf exhaust leak for 2 months then replaced it with a high level, so my advice is probably not wanted here.
