Exclamation SV650 03 Indicator problem

Hey, I've recently bought a 2003 SV650 which has a recent service and MOT
all is well except the front left indicator doesnt work and the read left blinks at double the rate it's suppose to.
Tryed a new indicator relay but that didnt help. I know the bulbs are fine because I've swapped them over from the indicators that do work and its still the front left that doesnt work
any ideas guys?, cheers!

note: these are just the standard blinkers, not LED's

sounds like a wiring issue, the indicator isn't getting any power

it would either be a faulty bulb, or a connection to it. I would check all the connections are clean and free from rust etc.

I've checked the bulbs, like I said I swapped a bunch around and it was always the front left
I took the front cowling/fairing off for a look at the connections but everything is connected, not really sure what I'm looking for though, I'm more of a mechanical guy, I hate electronics

would I be worth just getting a shop to look at it instead?

it's simple and easy. Follow the wiring from the indicator back and make sure all connectors are tight and the wire isn't shorting out any where

put an earth to the frame somewhere and push it into the connector for the indicator, will tell you if it is an earth wire. It might even be the bulb holder inside the indicator

check where the wire connects to the metal bulb holder. mine broke on the connector and the indicator would work when i bent the unit as the wire would touch then stopped when i let go. just need to stip the wire and reconnect / solder it

Undo the connectors to both the front indicators. Swap them round and see if the right hand indicator stops working. If it does, then it's the wiring. If it doesn't then it's the indicator unit.
