Problem with my SV650
I was out driving and came across a empty parking lot, so I decided to try and do some "moving burnouts" (you know when the bike moves forward and burns rubber at the same time), anyhow, so after a few failed tries because of the front brake not really working properly the bike stops moving all together, I mean it's on and running, I can change gears, the clutch basicly works (doesn't feel diffrent or anything), it just doesn't move forward, well actually it does move a little bit forward on first gear, but not much.
I played with the clutch and throttle, then suddenly it just didn't move forward, I didn't hear any odd sound or anything... What could be the problem? |

have you hit the kill switch?
but seriously, you may have completely burnt your clutch out. you engage a gear then let the clutch out and the engine meets some resistance but goes no where. |

i dd practically the same thing on a cb250, not burn outs but pulling away from the lights from holding the front brake lever in and a bita throttle, had exactly the same symptoms and would go into gears, but didnt move, engine still ran smooth, it turned out apparently to be a damaged gear selector fork, wtf? thats what the mechanic said, dont know what it is or if the sv has one but may help, but I would be tempted to say yep a burnt out clutch, specially on the sv with burn outs,
