Ditto. The finish will be a bit soft at least for a few days.

No problem. I will give it until Thursday then put it back together. I’ll see if I can fit the shock while I wait. I only have a standard car jack and rear paddock stand to raise the back, if it doesn’t seem safe I will see if I can borrow a proper car jack off somebody

Nice job on the forks.

Remember that Acrylic paint is not as robust as a twin-pack but it is pretty easy to freshen up in-situ.

If and when they get tatty you can just mask them up and use an old Supermarket plastic bag behind the forks/around the wheel and disc for over-spray and a quick light rub with Scotchbrite and then flash a freshner coat for as much visible area of the forks

They look good, now go and find a sunny spot to put them in to speed up the curing.

How much chopping do you plan to do to get the GSXR shock in?

I’m glad I can touch them up on the bike. Can’t see me taking them off for a long time now. I’ll put my oil radiator in in the garage if that will help them cure faster? The gsxr shock is off a k3 k4 model which I’m lead to believe is a straight drop in replacement, I might be wrong

Acrylic paint cures pretty quick. You can also make it more robust by,"Compounding" but give it a few days or a week before you so this. All this means is polishing it with rubbing compound but you don't have to spend on this as you can use Autosol metal polish for the same effect. This compresses the softer surface of the paint to make if a bit harder.

Best price I ever find for Autosol is in Wilkos supermarkets where I also buy my GT85 PTFE lube which is useful for general maintenance of things and I use to re-waterproof my gloves/boots etc as it a super water repellent and inert so also protects the stitching.
