Default Summer solstice sunrise

After being inspired (slightly) by a bike mag last year I think it'd be a good idea to get up early on Sat and go and watch the sun rise.

However, I don't want to get up too early so any recommendations of a good place to watch the sun rise within an hour or so's ride of Blackburn / Preston?

I'll probably oversleep but that's the plan.....

The Singing Ringing Tree over Burnley. Great views, car park for the bike and a cool bit of sculpture too.

It's off Crown Point Road near Burnley Golf Club.

Whereabouts are you from? I am from great harwood and me and a couple of lads go out for rides quite a bit, and you are most welcome to come along.

We don't push it to hard just enjoy the open road, saying that my mate has a Hayabusa so things do get a bit pacey at times. My other mate has a new gsxf650 ( ithink) and is still running it in, so i am stuck in the middle at ther moment lol.

PM me your number and i will give you a bell when we are going out

It's too late for this year now but Megs stone circle near Penrith is great for summer solstice. It's the 6th biggest stone circle in the UK and is always visited by loads of friendly hippy types on summer solstice. I had a top ride out there last year.
