Default Removing K9 catalytic converter?

Hi, as I'm in the middle of getting the K9 back on the road I've looked at the exhaust where I've cut to fit after market link pipe and can and thought about getting the CAT cut out. I've had the LAMBA sensor done by Steve Jordan, hello Sarah(I know she'll read this) and wanted to know if this is OK. Or on the other hand can I use a earlier down pipes and fit to the new link pipe and can? Just the LAMBA sensor will be hanging there.

What have you had done to the Lambda probe?
If it's not fitted into the exhaust, A, it will get hot as it is a Heated 02 sensor, B, you'll get a FI warning light come on.

If the lambda sensor is by-passed, why not just remove it entirely and de-cat the bike!?
Either by fitting a set of earlier or aftermarket headers/collector or just get the catalyst cut out of your existing system.
If it's sitting there doing nothing..........might aswell not be there.
