Default Braided hoses.. anything I should look out for ??

Thinking of putting some braided hoses on the front of my ZX6R... probably the race format, 2 lines straight from the piston to the calipers.

Is there anything I should be looking out for with braided hoses?? I was told that certain metals dont like each other etc.. so need to look out for what the links are made of ??

Also any help with how you would fit them to if possible!

cheers!

i been told that it better to get ones that have some form of plastic coating over them to stop metal on metal rubbing

physically fitting them is easy just make sure you dont get brake fluid everywhere, bleeding them can be a bit of pain though

Only go for the stainless steel fittings.

HEL do good deals at the moment. Come with stainless fittings and come covered in the colour plastic of your choice.

There are some eBay dealers with some good winter deals

DOn't buy any with plated steel or aluminium fittings. They can have an electrolytic reaction and corrode badly. Not something you want to happen on your braking system.

Always go stainless.

Another vote for HEL here. £55 from eBay.

Not sure I agree with that entirely - you're paying a lot of extra £'s for no real benefit. They'll far outlast the life of your bike.

Following Rictus's advice I went for chrome plated Goodridge's, and have been very happy with them.

I dont think £60 for a HEL 3 line setup is expensive.

No it's not, but remember that's a discounted price to the .Org. They're normally about £80. In theory they'll only provide SV ones for that price, not Kwak length ones as per the original post. However, obviously it's worth a try.

Also, for £55, I'm not sure HEL provide a line for the rear, so it's only the front.

I purchase a 3 line set (2 front and 1 rear) off eBay for £60 last year. No forum discount involved. In yellow to match as well

having fitted one to the rear i cant say that i made any real diffrence to the brakeing peformance, i have always found my rear brake rather 'remote', it does work propely just dont get much feel through it.

front ones did a world of good though
