Default what they don't tell you...

...about motorcycling.

1) Flies will get inside your full face helmet, often at speed, often aiming for your eyes.
2) Once you get your helmet on and start riding you'll want to sneeze or scratch your nose but you can't reach the itch nor stop.
3) Waterproof motorcycle clothing is an oxymoron.
4) When you get home your house keys will be in your pocket, but which pocket?
4a) Linked to above - you need the toilet.
5) Cold air will find its way in.
6) You will never drop your bike unless there are witnesses.
7) You get to know everyone that works at your local petrol station.
8 ) When helmeted, speaking to another rider involves a lot of saying: "what?"
9) group riding - they always go too fast, too slow for your comfort.
9a) ride your own pace (hah! I'm going to take him).
10) all riders are mechanical wizards (or think they are).

Bonus:

11) The answer to "what's the best chain lube?" is like "what's the meaning of life?". There may be an answer but you'll need to find it yourself.
12) There are hundreds of models of tyres, this number is equalled by people telling you their tyres are best.
13) Asking about oil causes a nationwide collective groan.

Nope the best chain lube is the one you use on a shaft or belt drive.
