Visit England in the spring
I have an idea that will save me some money. Take the bike over to England as soon as it's possible to ride in Norway. Why? To buy the full fairing much cheaper than in Norway. I mentioned that it's £452 plus fitting?
I would need some help, though. Where to buy. Deliver times. A place to fit it during a weekend. Anyone up for the task? |

Which bit of England are you planning on coming in to?

Cheaper to travel all the way here and buy the full fairing than have it shipped. Must be some serious import duties going on up there.
Is the price quoted a Suzuki dealer? Where does your ferry disembark? If it is a Suzuki dealer price then best to contact a SUZUKI agent near the ferryport. Order it up and arrange an appointment AFTER they have it in stock. That's what I'd do... |

There are only two ferry connections - Bergen or Kristiansand - Newcastle.
The price is from my local Suzuki dealer. Then again - the ferry ticket is EUR 384! |

Ever looked for a fairing on eBay germany? They are offered there frequently in different colors. In that way you could buy a full fairing for about 300 euro's. Most of the times they're brand new.
Could save you a trip to the UK. |

Oneida Suzuki (a NY dealer) has some of the most competitive prices around. I got my local dealer to price match on a set of full lowers fro my SV650SK3. Oneida price? $379 USD which comes out to be around 200 Pounds Sterling. I just ordered a Seat Cowl for $79 plus shipping. Not too shabby... They have a very cool online shopping website...Might be worth putting in some numbers (just need to register) and seeing how much it costs to ship to Norway... oneidasuzuki.com |

Clearly you're not going to save any money if you add in you travel costs, but if you were coming across anyway, it seems like a good way to save money.
Why not combine your visit with the SV650.org annual ride out? |

Thank you for the tip - I have sent them an e mail asking (begged) if they can ship to Norway. If they do, I will save more than £160 |
