You'll most likely have to use filler to sort the dent (depending on where it is) and then do a part or full re-spray of the tank. I've been informed in can be difficult to do a part re-spray on pearlescent paint and get it to blend in. Or you could fit a tank cover.

Default Dent

To be honest its not really that bad,i just know its there and its annoying the hell outa me for being so stupid! I think once the couple of chips are sorted with the touch up ill leave it at that. Its not enough of a dent for filler looking at it,but thanks very much for the replies all.
By the way if anyone is interested it cost me £9.00 for the touch up bottle!
Thanks everyone!

If its creased, you'll be lucky to get it out, if its a dent, then you can remove the tank, fill it with frozen peas, then add boiling water & put the filler-cap down (obviously with all the outlet holes capped off too...)

Never done it myself, but its supposed to work a dream... Otherwise, its filler & repaint, or a new tank

I have the odd little rust spot on the tank where a few stones have hit, so I was thinking of buying some touch up paint too. Question is: I can already see brown rust in the spot, do I have to deal with that first (ie sand paper it, or get rid of it) or can I just paint over it and forget about it?

Correct me if I am wrong, but if left undealt with, it will grow and spread under the rest of the paint yeah?

i am going to do a similar thing.

someone told me to use a cotton stick (for cleaning your ears) with a little bit of white spirt on it to clean it then dab on the paint

is this good or bad advise as i am not very good at paint thingys
