Default New engines from Harley

Of course they are V twins, but not 45°, they will be 60°, water cooled.

I wonder if they'll be just as effective as the older 45-degree motors in producing twice as many decibels as horsepower?

And good lord, that Pan-America 1250 adverture bike is fugly

If Harley had let Erik Buell (remember him!) build the v-twin he wanted, there would have been a superbike of some description

And no arsess chaps in sight

Did you read the comments under that article? Hilarious. Every time someone offered a slightly less than complimentary opinion the same bloke leapt to their defence and tried to lamely say that HD is and always will be the best thing since sliced bread.

And that ADV thing certainly is truly ugly.

They've tried watercooled 60° before without much success.
Harley owners don't like change.

If you wanted to make an industrial vibrator to keep pulverized rock flowing smoothly in a chute or similar, the Harley V twin is your go-to ready made product. I have heard the Harley D factory referred to as the Milwaukee tractor factory - when are Harley going to fit a universal three point attachment and power take-off to the rear of bike.

Sayyed Bashir sounds like a good American name, he must work at Milwaukee tractor factory. Putting a big lump of engine in a bike that is supposed to be off road capable ala BMW G1200 a bit counter intuitive, I was talking to a guy on a BMW at a small show in March he said he tried it off road once, got stuck in mud, bike fell over and took him over two hours to get upright and out of mud, he sticks to tarmac now, but he said G1200 makes a good touring bike on tarmac, which is fair enough, but why the weird off road styling and knobbly tyres...

That is where HD problems stem from, don't like change. Unlike every other manufacturer, who can introduce a different type of engine to suit the bikes use, HD have to stick with that engine, so can't exploit different markets to keep them afloat.

Bit like the British bike industry sticking with twins and singles, but on their rebirth they've used other engine format's to great success, whilst still keeping the traditionalists happy with the twins.

I remember a journalist writing about a test ride in the USA on the then new belt driven Sturgis. He pulled up to some lights and some good'ol boys in the pick up in the next lane asked him how he liked it. He said it was a piece of ****, but then had to jump the lights before the good'ol boys best the crap out of him!

That's the kind of Trump mentality HD will die by. Awful overpriced crap

TBF Harley are damned if they do damned if they don't HD fans don't like new engine designs so stop buying and they can't get new customers because of the agricultural old engines maybe they should set up a separate make for sporty stuff.
