Reluctant freezer
My fridge freezer has not been plugged in since I moved, they said wait a week after moving it, its been almost a year.. Only fired it up so I can defrost the built in one in the kitchen.
Anyway, the lights / knobs all work but no whirry sounds and no cold. Any tricks to try before figuring out how to get it to the dump? I've heard of standing them upside down - but maybe an urban myth. |

Re: Reluctant freezer
Yup - but guessing I reckon its a gas/coolant type of problem, so the compressor wont kick in. Dunno if they leak their coolant when left standing for such a long time, or maybe its all moved 'down one end of the pipe'

Re: Reluctant freezer
How long have you left it turned on - it might take it a while before everything kicks in. I'd leave it plugged in overnight

Re: Reluctant freezer
Also put the internal control knob to maximum setting. If it is going to kick in will most likely do it with highest cooling demand setting.

Re: Reluctant freezer
"Percussive maintenence" works a charm.
