Bye SV - Hello Blade
So after sticking over 20k miles on my 03 pointy in the past 4 years and avoiding all sorts of scrapes, drivers (they really are all mad and definitely out to get you. I too have a cage ) I wrote it off last month.
Slowing down with the engine about 35mph and headed for the toll booths on a greasy road after light rain and I assume the back wheel locked. Got into a jolly tankslapper and then I was off and sliding. No major damage to me - but things were a bit scraped and dangly. I managed to ride it slowly back to York after a cuppa in the Humber Bridge offices (great chaps there!). So I have bought a 2002 Fireblade which Hovis kindly spotted. Went down to Essex, picked it up and started riding it back - straight into an accident on the M25. Not me .. So here's a piccie of the 'blade on the grid waiting for the road to clear .. and here's everyone else sweating it out in their leathers |

Re: Bye SV - Hello Blade
He bought it 2.5 years ago from John's of Romford for 4700.
His wife's been made redundant, they're down from two cars to one and are rationalising everything. Not all doom & gloom though. They have a house in France near Limoges and are intending to liquidate everything and go and live there. So its a good thing in a way that they've had the financial upset to give 'em the kick in the pants and start the clear out. He's still working so not on the bones ... Really nice bloke in his 50's and absolutely straight as a die Me? Got £2300 from NU for the SV - less £150 excess. Insurance is whole different ball game now though. TPFT'd it with 0 NCB for £178. Comp was going to be £500 plus. Will take more snaps once the sun comes out I'm happy .. |

Sorry to hear about your SV, but sounds like you've done ok out of it. You'll be harder to spot at squires now

Re: Bye SV - Hello Blade
Was that you at Helmsley on a Versys about 2pm Robchester?
Went out for a learning session in the Howardian Hills from York and stopped an ancient bloke on a blue curvy to ask him if he was on the org. "Hold on" he said shaking his head "I've got earplugs in!" So he takes of his helmet and earplugs, and he was still deaf as a post! "Are you on the SV org?" "This IS an SV650" ... etc. Gave up and bought a pasty. |
