16th April..... The Tap

Hello there. Just realised it's the 16th today, and I was thinking of popping over to The Tap to say hello, seeing as it seems like quite a nice day.

I have never been to Eastham though. I'll get lost I am sure!

I kind of know where it is. Do you aim for Bromborough initially?

I will defo be there. Everyone else appears to be a maybe. I'll be there by 7:30 and if no one else turns up by 8:00 I'll sling me hook. Flymo and witchery, turn up and say hi - a few more definites will probs make others show willing.

Witchery, depends which way you are coming but if I assume you're coming from Liverpool through the tunnel then its best to take the 'old' Kingsway tunnel that brings you out in Birkenhead. Follow the A41 towards Bromborough for a few miles, you'll eventually go past a McDonalds on your left just before some lights.

Keep going for another mile or so and you'll go past a few big warehouses and a shell garage on your left. There was an old Wirral Met College campus on your left that I think may have been closed now and then a Bathstore.com shop on the right. I think you go under a metal pedestrian walkway over the road if it hasnt been removed recently. Bear left here at the traffic lights to leave the main road. Theres a little pub on the left, turn left here and follow the road. You should see the river in front of you. At the end of the road you cant miss the Tap pub. Might well be other bikes heading there to.

If you hit the M53 junction with the A41 then you've come too far by about 1/4 mile. Just go around the roundabout and bear right to Eastham.

Sounds good. I'll do my best to come along for a glass of pop and a rant.

I'll wear my 'Luckypants' badge that lissa made for NW3 rideout. I'll also be there on a silver VFR with the screen held together with gaffer tape!

Since I may/may not be there, Mike, I'll drop you a text when I know either way.

If I'm going, I reckon I'd be passing St Asaph around about 7pm.

xXBADGERXx, I'll also drop you my number just in case. Based on the above time, I'd be passing Colwyn Bay around 6:40pm ish.

From this end, it's not that hard to get to The Tap. A55 until A494, follow onto A550 & sit on that until the M53 roundabout (J5). At that roundabout straight over, then take 1st right. Follow that a few hundred yards taking 2nd right on to Ferry Road.

Should be a nice evening for you all... weather good but light showers forecast for later on tonight. Have fun and hope everyone gets there ok
