Suggest a helmet for this budget?
Hi, if you were a pretty new rider, had just bought an sv650 and had to choose a helmet...
My primary concern is obviously safety, but I dont have THAT much cash (after the bike, insurance, DA course etc- all sorting this week). So, as always I know I will have to compromise. Just wondered if I could benefit from others experience with this one... I am looking for a decent level of protection... lightweight as poss. Full face, and budget is around ?100. Am I being realistic? - oh... and most importantly, it has to be Black!!! |

Re: Suggest a helmet for this budget?
One that fits your head... a Hundred pound lid that fits you properly is going to give better protection than a five hundred pound Arai that doesnt.
Get down your local bike shop and try a few on and see which fits best etc etc, then have a look on line and try and find a better price. Personally I dont know what is available for your budget, if you can find a bit more cash then have a look at the Shoei Raid II, always gets good reviews that one does.

GBP90 will get you a Caberg V2 or AGV, or HJC.
Remember to dress for the crash, not for the ride. |

HJC if it fits, I got an AC-11 a few years ago for GBP99 and is still going strong, came 2nd in the Ride helmet test a few years ago.

I'm with Tim. I've only had the helmet a few months but my HJC is the most comfortable I've ever tried, although it was GBP140. It's an FG-14, if you're wondering.

Just bought a Shark S800. If it fits your head, I'd recommend it.
But you'll know which one if the right one when you try it on! C |
