Deepest sympathies Adam. And I know your pain too. We lost my wife's mother on the 22nd Dec 4 years ago, 5 days before our son's wedding... painful times, and tough times too. Don't forget to make some time for yourself - its bloody hard work trying to keep everyone together when you're hurting too. Remember to smile for what you had, don't spend too much time crying for what you lost.

A New Year is just around the corner - enjoy!

I don't think I've properly processed losing my Mum a few months ago yet. Now it's like my brain is unable to take in that we've lost my Wife's Mum too. We're off to their family home tomorrow though. Trying to have a Christmas part two for the kids with relatives down in Cornwall. Keeping everything festive for them really helps. That and a good haul of cheese, chocolate and snacks that everyone gave each other. Presents this year are very foody. Also... left overs. Does anyone else prefer left overs to the actual main event meals? Mmmmm...

We normally have another christmas dinner on new years day + make all sorts of pies and pasta bakes with the rest.

Previous years I've had turkey right up towards October

I made a turkey curry two nights ago. I've still got enough left for another meal. Our problem is cheese, we're swimming in the stuff, as we bought more than usual and then my sister bought us a shed load too.

Cheese and onion pies?
Bacon and cheese quiche
Or invite 10 cheese fiends over for a night

Cheesy vegetable bake tonight. On the minus side one of the cheeses my sister bought has blue veins, probably shropshire blue. I can't get on with blue cheeses.

I've spent the last few days decorating the bathroom. The wife is away visiting family so I'm taking advantage of the time when she's not in there twice a day filling it with steam.
