Default Removing the rear caliper

Anyone know the torque settings for the two bolts holding the rear caliper on? Or is it easier to just take the rear wheel out? Also, have Haynes done a manual for the K5 yet?

I don't know about the torque settings. I use a grunt and then a bit more.

Just out of interest why do you want to take the calliper off? If it's to change the pads, you don't need to take the calliper off.

I'd hazard a guess at 23 or 27nm, seems like half the bike is 23nm. But I wouldn't say that for sure, I don't know pointies that well...

It's in Haynes. I could look tonight if no-one else gets back to you today

You taking caliper off because the pins are stuck?

There's no Haynes for the pointy model AFAIK.

Want to give it a clean and re-grease the back of the pads.

Nope, the full Suzuki Workshop manual is on the 'main site' somewhere...

get the manual at http://www.sv650.org/sv_manuals.htm
Rear caliper bolts are 23Nm. Careful with them, they will snap (as I discovered)
You don't need to remove the back wheel to remove the caliper. What are you trying to do to it?

Cheers for the link, Carsick. Want to clean the rear caliper to see if it will work any better. The backs of the pads could do with greasing aswell, its started squealing.
