Some shots from Powis Castle on Sunday evening. They hold a Christmas lights event every year for three weekends on the trot. Last one this year is this coming weekend. Well worth taking a camera and tripod. Dress warm though it was freezing.

Good. Bring a small torch, handy when your bag rolls down a bank and all the contents fall out, leading to groping about in the dark looking for your stuff.

I've since bought some fingerless gloves too.

A surprise 70th birthday lunch for my mum in law today. 30 of us, so this required me to make a BIG cake!

A few weeks back Tiptree Preserves sent me a lovely box of goodies to celebrate Essex winning the cricket div 2. I used the blackcurrant conserve along with vanilla butter icing to fill it. I know that's not the conventional flavour for a Victoria sponge but the sharpness works so well with the butter icing.
