Default Rebuilt rear bodywork and now I have bits left over

Hey all,

Finally got fed up of having a rat bike and cleaned it today, thoroughly... Removed all fairings, front mudguard and rear body work.

Was amazed at how easily it went back together except for two rubber mounts from the read. They are solid bits of rubber, cylindrical, flat on one side and barbed pointy on the other like they are supposed to slot into something. I saw them when everything came apart but can't find anywhere for them to go back into. I've removed the rear a few times (for the scot oiler) and have never seen them before.

Anyone got any idea's on:

1) Where do they come from
2) Is is bad dangerous to ride without them?

TIA
Stu

OK... Is ther a quick and easy way to do that (have no hosting ability at the mo...)

Extra info though... They are about 1" in diameter and about the same in length (sort of the same size as the grommets that rear grab handle bolts into.

Theres 3 types of rubber gromits on the rear bodywork, all look roughly the same

As for hosting, try photobucket.com

Hmm... Interesting. The three that you are talking about (Under the front seat, at the front of the rear seat, and where the grab handle screws in) are all there and correct.

The bits that I have are not really grommets, more like mounts. No holes for screws etc.

I'll see about getting a picture posted tomorrow. They are sitting in the shed at the moment and I ache from doing to much

Thanks,
Stu

Then it could be the ones that fit on the sides of the subframe and locators on the inside of the fairing panels go in them

How many of these should there be? I have two near the front of the panels that are still there - should there be four?

TIA,
Stu

I have no idea what those are But I'm fairly sure that I don't have them.

Ah, no, wait... They sound a bit like the bits that push into the seats... Can't think of any reason why you'd have removed those, but it could be them...
