number plate shapes
I know number plate letters/numbers must be of a certain size and font, is there any such law/regs on the shape or layout of the numberplate?
Im looking to have a plate like this: AA 11 ABC instead of the normal AA11 ABC Any Ideas?

Re: number plate shapes
try it and see how long you last? many plates on the road today arnt legal but as long as it doesn't look stupidly wrong you may just get away with it til mot time.

Re: number plate shapes
was thinking of creating the plate to sit on a custom hugger ( ie remove the tail thats on the bike) and have the hugger show the indicators and number plate+light.
If the plates illegal not gonna last long- work practically next to the local station so gonna be seen by traffic cops almost everyday... what a bum

Re: number plate shapes
Dnt think im lucky enough to get away with it! esp as the cops will see it most days... MOT is one you can get away with - as you said just change it before the test is due!

Re: number plate shapes
Motorcycles registered on or after 1 September 2001 must display a two-line numberplate number plate. Motorcycles registered prior to the 1 September 2001 may display athree-line plate, but one-line plates are illegal, irrespective of the date of registration ofthe motorcycle

thats the law but not everyone sticks to it, id say 30% of plates at Bassett's pole are illegal.

Re: number plate shapes
I thought there was a production bike that came with a 3 line plate, summing like a BMW something or other.
I might be wrong though
