Fuel Stabiliser for winter storage?

Would this stuff do? - were talking storing the bike for approx 3 months.

seems to be for older engines that need lead in the petrol to make unleaded into 4star petrol,so may be not the best aditive for storage

Just fill the tank to the brim. 3 months won't hurt it

petrol will last in the tank for a year if full and no or very little air present,its the carbs that are a problem as the petrol will evaporate and go off and can block the carbs up,
you wont get this problem if its a fuel injected bike thow

I am not saying this is correct but it is what I do.
Firstly -- wash clean and polish the bike--no crud any place
Secondly-- full service including clean brakes
Thirdly--- Slightly over inflate tyres[allowing for slight air loss over storage period]
Fourthly-- Raise off the ground,paddock,Abba etc. so wheels can turn
Fithly--Paint chain with old engine oil.
Sixthly--Top up fuel tank to the very brim
Seventhly--Use an old double bed sheet as a dust cover.

Every couple of weeks I spin the front wheel and apply the brakes,start the engine and run in all gears,apply the back brake. I normally run the engine till it is up to temperature till the fan kicks in,switching all the electrics on and off a couple of times and test the horn.
By doing this[5mins] everything is kept free and in working order and should a fault appear you have plenty of time to rectify it. My bike is taxed and insured 12/12 so if for any reason I have to use it during the storage period it is available and when the better weather comes back around its all up and running ready to roll.

All during the storage period I leave the Optimate connected,I do not use any additives in the fuel,just check that it is still topped up and I have never had any problems doing all the above over the last 20 years

+1 Stabiliser is a waste of money unless you're leaving years, not a couple of months.

only trouble is it only takes a few months every year and then by the time your bike is a few years old your carbs are gummed up and the bike runs like crap,dont forget most bikes are off the road from november till march so about 5 months

Carbs gumming up - if you have a fuel tap, switch it off and run the engine until it dies.

that can be just as bad,not all the fuel will be used and some parts that are rubber can shrink and perish,plus i dont own a bike with a off position as they all run vaccum tapes and the last bike i saw with a tap you turn off was british with push rods
