A warm 5 miler this evening with a Powys Canicross friend and our three dogs. Stopped at the river on the way back to let the dogs have a swim and a cool down.

Timing at parkrun on Saturday with a 10k local race on Sunday:

https://www.strava.com/activities/2589167342

My ankle felt OK, so (apart from my wife finishing 20s in front of me) all good. That'll be the last short race for me for a while, I need to see if I can remember how to run long slow runs ...

Guilsfield Show Trail Race this evening. Short and a bit brutal! Happy with the time though given the terrain.

Forgot to pick up my Inov8 shoes and ended up running in a 5 year old pair of knackered New Balance trail shoes. Definitely noticed the difference

I had to drop my car off at the garage tonight, so I went in my running gear and kinda did my usual route backwards but also went via a cycle path that runs alongside a river, which I don't normally. And found a little outdoor gym! It's a bit lightweight for me, but I did 10 reps on each "machine" anyway.

The route was so much harder going backwards! Instead of a long gentle incline over half of the run, it was a series of very steep uphill sections. I had to stop and walk after each of them to catch my breath.

Hill reps! Painful but great stamina builders.

Hills should be seen not as obstacles but as mounds of potential.

Muddy evening run with a friend. Lots of impassable/overgrown footpaths so a number of detours and lots of backtracking needed on our 4 mile run. Forgot to turn the Garmin on so only got the last 1.4 miles of the run.

Cracking 8 miler over mixed terrain in the Welshpool area this morning. Canalside, steep hills, fields and woodland trails and quiet back lanes.

A bit wet to start with but it dried up after a couple of miles.

Running with a fellow canicrosser from Welshpool.

Mabel is now stacked out in her bed!
