Trip to the doctors this afternoon to see about some effective pain relief for my back. For the first time I had a doctor who listened to me, answered my questions, and prescribed something for me which looks like it may finally let me sleep at night. He was brilliant, a youngish guy with some sympathy and understanding. And all this despite me arriving half an hour late, having misheard my appointment time. I was so grateful to him. CT scan results were all clear too, so a big SotD for me.

Thats good news Gary. I hope you slept better last night.

My SoTD.... car passed MOT without any notes / advisories. Handy as I plan to sell it.

Excellent news on the car Mike. Always pleasing to get a pass with no advisories.

Very happy things are improving Gary.

My smile today though was also car related. Took my Focus to the local indie garage up the road for an MoT this morning but the call I got at lunchtime from them was an apology for not being able to do the work owing to a power cut... Only two of their three phases came back on, so the office was back up and running, but as the whole of the workshop is on three phase nothing was working. Got to go back on Wednesday. Inconvenient but quite funny.

Hold the front page!!!

The forecast here for Tuesday and Wednesday is... DRY AND SUNNY.

You watch it snow now I've said that. And in any case, I'll be working.

A break in the weather here in HU4. Had a longer shopping run out over the Humber bridge and a couple of my fave cafes in-between a bit of Lincolnshire Wolds
