Default Anyone Not Doing the rideout?

Some may say a strange question to ask....

This however is by no means against the amazing route that has been organised but for me the highlight of last year was the social aspect. On that note therefore going to have a nice relaxing boozy weekend with like minded friends so probably wont be attending by bike, but by car instead.

Going to hopefully sunbathe (touch wood!!!!). So was wandering who else was thinking along the same lines as a number of people didn't do the ride last year.

So far I plan on doing the rideout, but as anyone who saw the state of me on AR07 will tell you, that is subject to change at the last minute!

re subject to change.

Do you mean directly proportional to the alcohol intake the previous evening. You is just a wimp, a lightweight. Sod off down south with all the other shandy supping pooftahs where you belong.

Note to all non shandy supping southern pooftahs, please do not get upset at the stereotyping. It is just that Andy SO FITS the stereotype.

Is that not a contradiction? There is going to be plenty of time to socialise during the day of the ride. Or you could veg on a nearly deserted campsite while the majority are having a hoon of a time. The ride is planned for the Sat for a very good reason.

Friday arrive a few sociable beers, some food, lots of fun.
Sat the ride, socializing, getting back and partying all night with beer, drugs* and BBQ.
Sunday, breakfast, recover and go home to sleep.

*Of course that bit is a joke as no one will be breaking the law all weekend.

What I am meaning is that I dont fancy riding my bike all the way there, being shattered from doing so, then riding a wee bit hungover on the saturday, then drinking way too much on the Saturday night - most people will no the quantity of Zider I drank last year. Then, with a mother of all hangovers having a rough ride home.

For me personally I would rather chill out, drive over in the comfort of the car, have a brilliant weekend with like minded people and then drive home in relative comfort after.

Call me a "pufta", "Wimp" whatever you like, but for me personally I just dont fancy a massive trip to get there for a 140 mile ride out. The priority for me is seeing everyone again and having fun.

I am only asking cause there were a large number of people who didnt do the ride last year and so the campsite was far from deserted, if there were a few people planning on doing the same then for me that is what I would probably do. If every person said "Nope, gonna ride", then I would consider coming by bike.

I'm so glad I don't drink - means I never have this problem!

S'OK if you dont go I am, so loads of people will think you were on the rideout anyway and that you'd bought a new bike

Personally rideout for me is part of the weekend and I like talking to people at the stops as often you have more of a chance then than you do in the evenings or in the pub etc etc.

Its your weekend do what you want to do
