There must be different bikes that are more suseptible to requiring a fixer peg.
When I crashed my SV the end of the gear lever broke off.
But when I've dropped my ZX6R G1 on the left 3 times it's never broken the gear lever.

The SV is a very narrow bike, I wonder if on the I4's the crank sticks out further than the end of the lever.

The SV break and gear leavers seem to be designed to break rather then bend, but I think its cus they are cast metal.

Why? - Incase I drop the bike and the end snaps off the lever!

Answer - Anywhere reputable

What do you think of the quality of the Fixer-Peg? - Seems ok, not tested it yet.
Other comments - Although I thankfully haven't tested it yet, the SV is very prone to bits snapping off the foot levers, and so a tiny bit of kit that can get you home if you drop it in the middle of nowhere is well worth it I think. I went to Bosnia and back and all I had for peace of mind was a fixer peg, spare hand levers, sv toolkit and cable ties .

And something a bit more useful:

Bike Triumph Daytona 675 + Gas Gas 400 FSE
Do you have a Fixer-Peg? Nope
Why? Daytona is a racebike and I carry spare levers when I use it. Gas Gas is off road so I'd have to wrap it around a tree before either end snapped off!
Have you used a Fixer-Peg? No
If so, why, and were you able to continue? n/a
If you didn't have one, what would have happened? n/a
What price do you think you should pay for a Fixer-Peg? I think 15 pounds
Would you prefer to buy one from;
A, manufactures web site,
B, resllers web site,
C, local accessory outlet,
Answer Probably a reseller or local bike shop
Would you recomend one to your friends?Yep - I think it is a great idea
What do you think of the quality of the Fixer-Peg? Looks good in pics but I haven't seen it in the flesh
Other commentsReading some peoples comments on here, it seems that only certain types of riders would find them useful. Like Druid said, if I was on my work commute, i'd stick in 1 gear and leave it till I could get home and replace the lever. At the track, I carry spares of all levers so no use there either, but for people who go on rideouts and long trips, it seems like it would be a sweet idea! If you like, I could stick a post on kiwibiker and see what they think? If anything, it should give you more exposure.

I would agree with that, I have seen 3 sv's need a fixerpeg in one day, 2 of which were dropped at a stand still. On the same day I dropped my cbr at a standstill and it did even touch down, I've since thrown it down the road and the lever was still fine.

Still think they are brilliant idea though, I remember sometime last year I asked why he hadn't marketed them to retail outlets.

Which marketing company are you using, my friends run a marketing company and I have seen a few of their products getting into mainstream shops recently, they are local too.
