Personification- are you guilty?
For me, its just a bit of verbal abuse now and again and a pat after a ride... and the occasional prayer when trying the kickstarter on my tzr.
Now everyone elso own up... Last edited by mjc; 15-03-09 at 03:06 PM. |

Re: Personification- are you guilty?
Roger's my sv. Short for 'The Jolly Roger'.
I often pat him say the odd thing to him (usually apologising for not taking him out or 'I'll have you sorted soon' or a quiet 'thank you' for a great ride and/or getting us both home safe) and I even give him the odd hug. I understand the men in white coats will be arriving shortly. If someone can come 'round when I'm gone and give him the occasional hug for me I'd be most grateful. |

Re: Personification- are you guilty?
I mostly treat my motorcycle as the object it is...a machine, one that needs regular maintinence and looking after to keep it in good condition
But i thank it when it gets me home safely in horrible weather I pat it when i walk off to the lab everyday i shout "c'mon bike, lets gooooo!" when im off to brighton |

Just a thought boats have names don't they, well mine did anyway. So would be any different for a boat?
I did at one point consider have a painting on the hull, for when I fliped boat, which tended to happen quite a bit! |

I talk to Delilah all the time when I'm polishing her.

Re: Personification- are you guilty?
suzi is a most forgiving soul, i ride like a d1ck she tells me off (wee wobble here wee slide there) and we go home alive and well
mrs giggles would say i want to keep her in the house (which i do incidently) and pay more attention to her than the wife (for good reason) but hey my gun had a name (shian) |

I love my 'Billy Blue'! We get on great together, and I give him a wee pat after a ride.
