Whilst taking it easy because my back is still sore, my eldest has gone out, my wife and daughter are at school, all the jobs are done and I'm sitting here with a mug of tea and a Belgian bun

Peace and quiet for an hour

You can't have Belgian buns since Brexit. Or Viennese whirls and Danish pastries. Your are allowed a Chelsea bun. Or a Bakewell tart.

Ha! Reminds me of when The French didn't back the Bush administration on the Iraq war and French Fries were renamed Freedom Fries for a while in 'Merica.

It's my appraisal tomorrow and this year I've been asked to nominate a fee colleagues to give a paragraph of feedback on my performance at work this year. I asked the head coach, among others, as I have spent quite a bit of time with the young cricketers this year. Being a 46 year old woman trying to get any sense out of a sudden or more lads aged 19-23 can be a challenge. But he has sent my manager a really very positive email saying that they really appreciate everything I do for them, not just the photos but careers advice, nutritional guidance, mentoring etc. that is not even in my job description. It's so nice to hear as I do like to help them as they set out on their journey and not all will make it as pro sportsmen.

Got a nice thank you letter from the Top boss today, then got two £5 vouchers when I fuelled the car at Morrisons. Might get some gin with those tokens

Makes a change from being stabbed in the wallet.

Found a good supply of Efes Pilsner at last. Morrisons used to sell it but stopped. B&M do 500ml bottles for £1.35. Got a taste for it while in Turkey in 2011.
